12 Months

There is no academic calendar for the ABCC. Your year-long program begins when you’re ready.

• Participants enroll and begin the ABCC within 6 months of completing the prerequisites (see below).

• 60 contact hours over the course of 12 months (this includes the prerequisite Studio Session, Foundation hours, and Electives)

• Mid-Program Review in month 6

• Determine Electives in month 7

• Final Review & Portfolio Submission in month 12

• Payment plans are available and can be discussed during the Introductory Interview.

Curriculum / Cost

60 Contact Hours / as low as $3250

• Prerequisites (8 hours): $250

  This fee is paid upon registration for your first Studio Session and includes:

  1 Studio Session (2 hrs per week for 4 weeks)

  1 Introductory Interview with A-B Projects Director Nicole Seisler (scheduled at your convenience)

• Foundation (34 hours): $2500

  This fee is paid upon enrollment in the ABCC or upon a payment plan, and includes:

  3 Studio Sessions ($750)

  4 Online Advising Meetings with two different Advisors ($1000)

  (switching to in-person advising is $100 extra per meeting)

  3 State of Ceramics (Free)

  Administrative Fee ($750)

• Electives (18 hours): $500 and up

  This fee is paid at month 7 of the ABCC program, or upon a payment plan.

  These 18 hours are determined by the participant and may be constructed from any combination of Studio Sessions, State of Ceramics discussions, and Advising Meetings. The cost of these 18 hours varies depending on which components the participant chooses.

  Options are discussed during the Mid-Program Review and need to be determined by the participant by month 7 of their program. The participant pays this second installment of the program fee at this point. The menu of options includes: 

  Studio Session (8 hours)               $250

  State of Ceramics (2 hours)                   $0

  Online Advising Meeting (1 hour)             $250

  In-Person Advising Meeting (1 hour)        $350

For example, this could be 2 Studio Sessions (16 hours) + 2 Advising meetings (2 hours), or 1 Studio Session (8 hours) + 2 State of Ceramics discussions (4 hours) + 6 Advising meetings (6 hours), etc.
